The Red Lion always endeavors to keep the variety of Food and Drink exceptional. The beers and wines are always changing (but of course keeping the locals tipple), and all most all the produce is fresh and local. For those who need warming up in the winter months, a range of hot drinks are available such as coffee, tea, espresso, cappuccino, latte and of course hot chocolate.
We have plenty of seating available, whether it be our main bar area, the 'Well In' restaurant or somewhere around our garden in the beautiful Somerset summer months.
John and Dawn pride themselves on traditional home-cooked food. The snack and main menu offer a wide variety of dishes, with fresh specials every day and traditional roast on Sundays, children are also catered for. As said, the produce is always local whenever possible. On Sundays, the pork is from Sampford and the beef from Heath House.
We also have a covered and heated smoking area outside for those that wish to utilize this.
If you have any special dietary requirements please just call John and Dawn before your visit.

As mentioned before, The Red Lion keeps a nice turn around on drinks. John and Dawn personally choose all the wine, and a large range of spirits and mixers are available. But our pride of place is the wonderful range of ales and ciders.
5 GREAT CIDERS
Our house ciders include classic farmhouse ciders such as:
Weston Cider Companie's Old Rosie
Gaymers Pear Cider
Addlestone's
Rich's Farmhouse Cider
Blackthorn
We have recently introduced the 'Bristol Beer Factory' as one of our suppliers with great ales such as 'No 7' and 'Sunrise'.

Rich's Farmhouse Cider
Cider has been produced at Richs Cider Farm at Watchfield for over 50 years. There have been many changes since Gordon Rich started pressing cider apples at Mill Farm although essentially the production of the juice is still traditional.
In the Autumn the air is filled with the wonderfully heady aroma of crushed apples as the oak vats are filled with amber nectar.

Moles of Melksham
When Moles Brewery was established in 1982 on the Bowerhill trading estate in Melksham, Wiltshire, it was one of a growing number of micro-breweries set up to meet the consumer clamour for traditional beers that were conditioned in the cask, widely known as 'real ale'. |
